The SmartlockPro® Outlet Branch Circuit (OBC) AFCI Receptacle offers advanced technology to help protect against electrical fires resulting from arc-faults. Designed to detect a wide range of potentially hazardous arc-faults resulting from damage in branch circuit wiring as well as extensions to branches such as appliances and cord sets, the OBC AFCI responds by interrupting power. This helps reduce the likelihood of the home’s electrical system being an ignition source of a fire. Often unseen, arc-faults can occur anywhere in the home’s electrical system including within walls, at loose electrical connections or within electrical cords accidently damaged by impinging furniture. AFCIs are now required by the National Electrical Code® in many areas of the home.

The Leviton AFTR2 AFCI receptacle is designed to detect and interrupt potentially dangerous arc faults in a home’s electrical system. It provides feed-through protection, meaning it protects all wiring and extensions attached to the load side of the circuit, The receptacle has a tamper-resistant shutter mechanism that prevents access to the contacts unless a two-prong plug is inserted, meeting the latest National Electrical Code child safety requirements, The device features a TEST and RESET button on the face of the receptacle, allowing homeowners to perform localized testing and reset the device as needed, It includes precision trip technology that ensures precise tripping even in extreme temperature ranges. The line-side powered LEDs remain lit, even when a circuit breaker is tripped, for easy identification of the type of fault, The Leviton AFTR2 is compatible with all Decora devices and wall plates, making it easy to integrate into existing electrical systems, It detects both series and parallel arcing conditions and meets or exceeds UL requirements for tripping time for both series and parallel arcs. This helps reduce the likelihood of the home's electrical system being an ignition source of a fire.
